Rig headset problems10/2/2023 Previously I've had to play on 20/100 as anything above that was just too loud, but now my system volume is set to 60-70/100. What it does mean, however, is my headphones thinking I'm deaf as they're now assuming a very high volume, so they scream at me with battery level indicators. However when I access the sound control panel, go to properties of the microphone and attempt to increase. Ive identified that the problem is that I need to adjust the microphone level in the sound control panel option. I know for a fact this is a PC-side issue and not an issue with the headset, as they do not distort at all on my Xbox.Īs a temporary solution, I have installed EqualiserAPO and stuck a pre-amp of -20dB on it, which seems to have aleviated most of the distortion. The only problem is that the microphone is extremely quiet and I have to yell for people to be able to just barely hear me. Also, the distortion occurs at ALL VOLUME levels, and does not change one bit between them. The test sound is the same regardless of the settings. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers several times When I set the output to my 3.5mm jack-connected speakers, I get no such distortion, it's as clean and crisp as anything regardless of volume.Įvery single one of the Sound Format options Have you tried it in another device to make sure it's not the audio port You can attempt to fix it by replacing the cable, which will likely involve taking the headset apart, finding where they cable connects to a circuit board, de-soldering and re-soldering a new cable. However, when testing the headset with the standard Windows Sound Control Panel, I have noticed that even the test audio is distorted. Initially thinking it was just warzone, I have been messing with the in-game settings, which made no difference. I have decided to try and resolve sound distortion problems that have plagued my Warzone gaming for some time now. I'm using the Plantronics Rig 800HX Wireless Xbox/PC headset, which utilises a USB wireless Transmitter/Receiver. Here are a few things you can try: Check that the microphone boom is connected properly to your headset, pressed all the way in. Hi guys, I'm having a really frustrating problem with my wireless headphones.
